AFP-PA on Gov. Shapiro’s Budget Address: “A Plan to Make PA More Expensive”
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania—Today, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro delivered his annual budget address to the General Assembly.
Americans for Prosperity-Pennsylvania (AFP-PA) State Director Emily Greene issued the following statement:
“Governor Shapiro talks a good game, but what he just laid out is his plan to make Pennsylvania more expensive. From embracing the costly foolishness of cap-and-trade taxes on energy emissions, to picking winners and losers with tax subsidies and rebates, it’s clear that Governor Shapiro will strangle Pennsylvania’s energy sector.
“The Keystone State is still struggling with inflation caused by reckless overspending by Washington during the Biden Administration. Governor Shapiro’s plan for the Commonwealth is not only uninspiring—it’s unaffordable and unrealistic. It’s disheartening that in this era of divided government in Pennsylvania that leadership in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives is unwilling to come to the table with real solutions for Pennsylvanians”
