PITTSBUGH, Pennsylvania—Today President Trump rallied with industry leaders in Pittsburgh to celebrate a new partnership between U.S. Steel and Nippon Steel. The deal comes after former President Joe Biden previously abused his executive power to block Nippon Steel from acquiring U.S. Steel.

Americans for Prosperity-Pennsylvania State Director Emily Greene praised the move in the following statement:

“Today President Trump backed free trade by reversing President Biden’s injunction and allowing U.S. Steel and Nippon Steel to strike a deal that will benefit workers, businesses, and create tens of thousands of jobs right here in the Keystone State.

“We applaud the President for helping to broker a deal that provides mutual-benefit and free trade, and we hope to see more deals like this in the future.”
