AFP-PA Issues Statement on “People’s Town Hall” in Lehigh

Lehigh, Pennsylvania—Tonight, Lehigh Valley Democrats held a “People’s Town Hall.” Americans for Prosperity-Pennsylvania led a counter-demonstration outside the event.

AFP-PA State Director Emily Greene issued the following statement:

“Tonight’s event is nothing more than political fearmongering by the Lehigh Valley Democrats. Without real policy solutions, they have resorted to misrepresetion by conflating tax cuts with spending cuts. To be clear: maintaining the current tax rate for Pennsylvanians does not threaten funding for entitlement programs.

“What does threaten Pennsylvanians is a $2300 federal tax increase that will automatically go into effect if Congress fails to act. On behalf of every taxpayer in the Lehigh Valley, AFP-PA thanks Rep. Mackenzie for promising to renew the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.”
