ICYMI: AFP Activists Visit Washington, DC, Urging Lawmakers to Pass Trump Tax Cuts
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – Americans for Prosperity grassroots activists from across the country traveled to Capitol Hill this week as part of Americans for Prosperity’s ongoing Protect Prosperity campaign to advocate for President Trump’s tax cuts.
State Director Emily Greene traveled to Washington and conducted meetings to urge Pennsylvania lawmakers to extend provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), which saves the average Pennsylvania family $2,394 in federal taxes per year and preserves 33,339 jobs throughout the state. Greene also discussed passing the rescissions package from the White House to eliminate wasteful spending.
AFP-PA State Director Emily Greene released the following statement:
“This week, I met with lawmakers and urged them to pass President Trump’s reconciliation package and renew the TCJA tax cuts that will save Pennsylvanians more of their hard-earned money on their Federal taxes.”
“We must ensure Americans aren’t hit with the largest tax increase in history – we look forward to working to make TCJA permanent.”
Representative Dan Meuser (PA-09) added:
“The Big Beautiful Bill will deliver President Trump’s America First Agenda by expanding opportunities and ensuring real tax relief for small businesses. This legislation makes permanent the 23% small business deduction, restores immediate R&D expensing, and brings back 100% bonus depreciation–all critical for small businesses, manufacturers, and job creators.
“These are the pro-growth, pro-investment, pro-America tax reforms that Pennslyvania needs–and I appreciate AFP-PA’s strong support of the bill.”
Representative Llyod Smucker (PA-11) commented:
“If Congress does not act and pass The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, every American—at all income levels—will see their taxes go up. I appreciate the voices of so many, including Americans for Prosperity-Pennsylvania, who are advocating for the legislation’s passage. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act will achieve historic savings of $1.7 trillion while also extending tax relief for hardworking families and small businesses. It is critical Congress pass this legislation and deliver for the American people.”
